Gulf Specimen Aquarium

This past weekend we took a mini-adventure over to Panacea, FL. From our house in Wewahitchka, the inland route (Hwy 20 to Bloxham Cutoff) took about 1 hour and 40 minutes. It just so happened this car ride was multitudes better than our dinosaur trip ride! Jax decided to nap for most of the way there, TGH (Thank God Hallelujah!). The ride over was nice and easy and we went through places we hadn’t been in ages, like Wakulla and Crawfordville. Gulf Specimen Public Aquarium is tucked back off of Hwy 98 under some shade trees. The last time I remember coming here was an elementary school field trip, and about the same for Matt. We figured it must’ve been pretty cool if we still remembered it. Jax is super into animals right now and you may have seen a video I posted about his excitement for sharks. We knew he’d enjoy getting to see some up close and in real life. This big guy is out front and started the experience off right.   We bought our tickets inside the gift sh

This week we managed to have a few mini-adventures and I want to share them all with you eventually. Now I want to share our adventure from today, Dinosaurs-The Exhibition , in Panama City Beach.  We made plans to meet some friends and asked my brother’s family and my mom (Nana) to join too. We headed over to Gulf Coast Burger Co (about an hour drive from our house). Cheese 4. Sauces 5. Additions 6. Toppers. We’ve been wanting to try this place, but I’ve been watching my carbs so I ordered the angus, bunless, cheddar, garlic aioli, tomato and bacon with the tomato salad for a side. It was really yummy! Matt got the angus, cheddar, bacon aioli with l

Finding Contentment

This week has been one of reflection for me. My sweet Granny passed away and we laid her to rest in a beautiful service. I feel like anytime you have to deal with death closely, it brings up thoughts about how you are living your life. After all, none of us are promised tomorrow. Throughout the week and the service I kept thinking about my Granny and how she lived her life. As sad as it is to have to let someone go, there is a peace I have because I know she lived a long, full and happy life. She did this not because her life was always full and happy, but because she chose to live that way. If I can take one thing away from my Granny it would be her ability to find contentment . In my memories of her, she was almost always smiling or laughing. Not because she never had anything to be sad or angry or upset about, but because she chose to focus on the good parts of life. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in things that don't really matter and let the obstacles or the stress take o
