Constitution Convention Museum State Park

A few weeks back we decided on an easy mini-adventure right here in our county. We headed down to Port St. Joe to the Constitution Convention Museum State Park . It’s been a while since I’ve been there and we knew we could get Jax another stamp in his Florida State Parks Passport too! I really love their #EveryStampIsAStory campaign going on! A lot of people don’t realize that Florida’s first constitution was drafted right here in Port St. Joe in 1838. This is a neat thing for our state’s history to me! Port St. Joe even refers to itself as the ‘Constitution City’. The museum is small, but has some really cool artifacts and exhibits from our area. Jax is of course too young to understand the history part, but he enjoyed looking at the exhibits! It starts off with Native American and then Spanish occupation of the area. Jax particularly liked this section! The next room has walls of history canvases. Matt took time to read them while I monitored Jax. I’d

This past weekend we took a mini-adventure over to Panacea, FL. From our house in Wewahitchka, the inland route (Hwy 20 to Bloxham Cutoff) took about 1 hour and 40 minutes. It just so happened this car ride was multitudes better than our dinosaur trip ride! Jax decided to nap for most of the way there, TGH (Thank God Hallelujah!). The ride over was nice and easy and we went through places we hadn’t been in ages, like Wakulla and Crawfordville. Gulf Specimen Public Aquarium is tucked back off of Hwy 98 under some shade trees. The last time I remember coming here was an elementary school field trip, and about the same for Matt. We figured it must’ve been pretty cool if we still remembered it. Jax is super into animals right now and you may have seen a video I posted about his excitement for sharks. We knew he’d enjoy getting to see some up close and in real life. This big guy is out front and started the experience off right.   We bought our tickets inside the gift sh

This week we managed to have a few mini-adventures and I want to share them all with you eventually. Now I want to share our adventure from today, Dinosaurs-The Exhibition , in Panama City Beach.  We made plans to meet some friends and asked my brother’s family and my mom (Nana) to join too. We headed over to Gulf Coast Burger Co (about an hour drive from our house). Oh Lord Jesus today was an odd day where Jax did not want to nap in the car and he decided to scream his head off the entire way. All I can say is Thank Goodness for Nanas since she saw how frazzled we were and scooped him up for a few minutes once we got there.  The Gulf Coast Burgers menu has steps. 1.  Protein 2. Bun  3. Cheese 4. Sauces 5. Additions 6. Toppers. We’ve been wanting to try this place, but I’ve been watching my carbs so I ordered the angus, bunless, cheddar, garlic aioli, tomato and bacon with the tomato salad for a side. It was really yummy! Matt got the angus, cheddar, bacon aioli with l
